February's  pet of the month:

Sami, AKA "Fuzzy"

We are very fortunate to have so many wonderful clients and patients here at the Sunderland Animal Hospital. We have recently lost a long term and well loved patient who we have provided medical care to since opening our doors in 2001. Her name was Sami and she was one of four dogs owned by our wonderful clients Gretchen and Mike. Sami was an amazing patient who always arrived at our office with her tail wagging and a gentle disposition. We often called their four dogs the “Bechta Ladies” because their bond with one another was amazingly strong, often coming into the office in pairs to give moral support for appointments. Recently Sami was unfortunately diagnosed with an inoperable spinal tumor and was unable to recover. Her devoted owners did everything possible to make her final days comfortable at home and Sami was able to be with all of her sisters before her final day. Sami enjoyed swimming and boating at a local lake every summer with her owners and canine sisters. Sami and her sisters were always found in the farm fields of Whately pulling either Gretchen or Mike this way or that way.  Her devoted and wonderful owners are in our thoughts at this difficult time. Sami will be greatly missed but never forgotten as she will remain in all our hearts forever.
