Katie Allard-Stone, Office Manager, CVT Katie started her career at the Dakin Animal Shelter in Leverett and found the work very gratifying and exciting. While enrolled at Holyoke Community College Veterinary Technician program Katie completed an externship at the Sunderland Animal Hospital and joined the staff full time upon graduating in 2003.

Tammi Popham

Veterinary Technician

Tammi Popham, Veterinary Technician, graduated from UMass Amherst in 2014 and earned a bachelors degree in Animal Sciences. She started as an intern at the Sunderland Animal Hospital and joined the staff in January 2014! Tammi lives with her fiance Jon and cat Oreo. She enjoys skiing, camping, exploring national parks, and spending time with her family and friends.

Suzanne Gale, Veterinary Assistant, after years of regrets for not studying veterinary science in college, she got her Veterinary Assistant Certificate through Greenfield Community College in 2010, while she was a stay at home mom. She is so excited to join the team at Sunderland Animal Hospital and learn more about the medical aspect of caring for animals.

Jennifer Ferree, CVT, LVT, joined our team in October, 2017. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biology at St. Lawrence University, and has worked as a Veterinary Technician in both Maine and Massachusetts for over 20 years. She lives in Westhampton with her husband, Dan, 3 horses, 2 goats, and 2 yellow Labradors, Clover and Oatis.

Julia Krasney, CVT joined our team in August 2018 and has been a veterinary technician since Spring 2016. She received her Bachelors of Science in Wildlife Ecology and Conservation from UMass Amherst in 2014 and completed her Veterinary Technician Associates Degree at HCC in 2016. She loves all animals but ferrets and cats are her favorites.

Gromit is Dr. Ellis’s dog and she comes to work with him almost every day. Gromit enjoys greeting all the hospital employees every morning and some of the patients too. If you see her shaggy head peeking around a corner, it’s just Gromit making sure everyone is behaving and looking for any fallen treats.

Murphy, has been our clinic kitty since 2009! We are very excited to have added him to the staff of the Sunderland Animal Hospital. Murphy’s duties include welcoming clients and patients at the reception desk, keeping our staff company while upfront and warming any unattended chairs.

Carlos

In Memoriam of Carlos

Carlos, our beloved hospital cat, passed away in 2008 after battling kidney disease for years. He was a champion cuddler and spent most of his time figuring out how to climb up into someone’s lap. It is hard to put into words how much we loved him and how much love he gave us in return. He is greatly missed by all of us at SAH.

In Memoriam of Felix

Felix, one of the original pets of Sunderland Animal Hospital died shortly after Carlos in 2008. Felix had a wonderful and feisty spirit that is missed by all of the staff and many clients too. We know she is still with us in spirit as occasionally a rabbit dropping will appear out of nowhere.
