Dr. Charteris first fell in love with the veterinary field in 2013 while working as an assistant at a small animal clinic in central Massachusetts. He went on to get an associates degree in veterinary technology and a bachelors in pre-veterinary science from Becker College before pursuing his veterinary degree at the Royal Veterinary College in London. While in vet school he came back to Massachusetts in the summers and spent time working at Sunderland Animal Hospital. He enjoyed working with the SAH team so much that following graduation in 2023 he came back to join the practice.
Dr. Charteris is pleased to be back in the Pioneer Valley where he enjoys hiking with his fiancé and border collie. He is dedicated to providing high quality individualized care for his patients and working closely with clients to meet the needs of their pets through all life stages. Dr. Charteris believes in a collaborative approach to veterinary medicine and strives to ensure his clients have all the information they need to make the best decisions for their pets with respect to their individual circumstances.
